Day 235, December 12, 2012 (Longboat Key): This is high end! Longboat Key Club Moorings is a five-star operation with tons of amenities and superlative service. There is a Boat US discount on fuel and dockage, too. Here is Sequel in front of the Harbormaster’s office.

Day 232, December 9, 2012 (Leaving Tampa in the morning, weather permitting): Time out for family fun! A week with the crew of 16 during Thanksgiving week and then Hanukkah, a total of three weeks.  We hung out at son Judah’s club, Davis Islands Yacht Club, near downtown Tampa but not close enough to do without a rent-a-dent.

Day 218, November 28, 2012 (Tarpon Springs to Clearwater Beach): Tarpon Springs is a fun port of call. Turtle Cove Marina is a good, quiet refuge, a short walking distance from the touristy main street. The marina is not listed in many cruising guides.

Day 216, November 26, 2012 (Crossing the Gulf of Mexico): Frustrated? Just a little by the gulf! We left Apalachicola on November 15th after spending a miserably cold and foggy day in port. The 15th birthed a decent day and we (Blue Heron and Sequel) made for Carrabelle, a calm, protected ride behind barrier islands.
